Nestling in the stunning Axe valley, this former hay barn, has been converted to provide high quality accommodation for couples and families, seeking a base from which to explore this wonderful part of the English countryside, and The Jurassic Coast. This single storey cottage has panoramic views across the rolling hills of the Devon countryside. Public foot paths are just yards away from the cottage, leading down to the river Umborne: a great place for picnics, bird watching, or just a leisurely stroll. “Peaceful”, “lovely setting”, and “beautiful views”, are just a few of the comments left by previous guests to this Cottage.

Colhayne Cottages have vaulted ceilings, wooden beams and stone walls. This cosy and well presented holiday Cottage has been thoughtfully equipped to provide everything for a really comfortable self-catering holiday. This cottage will also suit those of you that are looking for ground floor only accommodation. Children are especially welcome & the stone cottage is centrally heated and cosy all year round. And up to two, well behaved, dogs are welcome in the cottage - for a small additional charge.

Explore the Local Area -

The nearby coastal resort of Lyme Regis, in the neighbouring county of Dorset, is just 6miles away, with its famous Cobb harbour. It is also a well-known haunt for fossil-hunters; sea fishing, sailing and boat hire are all available. Axe Valley Animal Park, The National Trust property of Shute Baron house, Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, Beer Quarry Caves, Pecorama are all within easy reach of the cottage. And the cathedral city of Exeter (with theatre, leisure centre and shopping facilities) is approximately 30 minutes drive.

OPEN PLAN LIVING AREA: With vaulted ceiling, wooden beams, original stone walls and breathtaking views over the Axe Valley, this area includes a very cosy and comfortably furnished sitting area with Freeview TV and DVD player;  a Kitchen/Dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, electric cooker, fridge, microwave and Dining table seating 4. Door to patio.

BEDROOMS: Complete with beamed ceiling the largest bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and drawers. In addition there is a twin room, with two single beds, wardrobe & drawers. We supply all duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels.

BATHROOM: A shower room with separate walk-in shower, wash hand-basin, & W.C.

OUTSIDE: Fully fenced garden with outstanding views over the Axe Valley, Patio with wooden picnic table, BBQ.

PARKING: There is private gated driveway for two cars.

OTHER: The cottage is fully centrally heated. Cot and high chair available on request. And up to two, well behaved, dogs are welcome in the cottage - for an additional charge.
